FTP Accounts
What's FTP? What?s an FTP account? When do you need to have one?
File Transfer Protocol (FTP), is one of the most widespread means for exchanging website files between a computer system and a server. Using an FTP client program such as FileZilla, you can connect to your web hosting account and drag & drop files or whole folders in both directions and the software will handle the rest. There’re a number of benefits of using File Transfer Protocol, including the option to resume a download/upload if there’s a problem with the connection and the ability to use different FTP accounts. Thanks to the latter option, you can set up FTP users that can access only certain folders in your web hosting account, but no other folders, emails or any other information, which makes it the perfect option when you need to grant a web designer access, for instance. You can also use an FTP account with popular web design applications such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver and upload the websites that you have created directly from them, without having to resort to any third-party software.
FTP Accounts in Cloud Website Hosting
You’ll be able to set up as many FTP accounts as you want with each of the cloud website hosting offered by us, because we have decided not to restrict this service. In this way, you can run numerous sites at the same time or provide other people with access to multiple directories. Once a specific job has been fulfilled and you don’t want that individual to be able to connect to your website files anymore, you can modify the password for the FTP account or you can just remove the account with a couple of clicks of the mouse and stop worrying about anyone accessing it again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with all hosting packages, will permit you to view the complete list of the existing FTP accounts listed alphabetically. It takes only one click to administer various options for any of them – to update the password or the access path, to download an auto-config file, etc.
